Exploring the Top Cricket Academies in Nepal: Interviews with Coaches and Players
Nepal may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking of cricket, but the sport has been gaining popularity in this small Himalayan nation. With the establishment of several top cricket academies, Nepal is now producing skilled players who are making a mark on the international stage. As part of our ongoing series on cricket in Nepal, we had the opportunity to interview coaches and players from the top academies in the country to get an inside look at their training methods and the impact they are making on the game.
One of the most renowned academies in Nepal is the Nepal Cricket School Academy, founded by former national team captain Raju Khadka. The academy aims to nurture young talent and provide them with the necessary skills and guidance to progress to the national team. We spoke to Khadka, who shared his vision for the academy and his thoughts on the current state of cricket in Nepal. He emphasized the importance of discipline and hard work, and how the academy focuses on developing not just cricket skills, but also life skills.
We also had the opportunity to speak with some of the players training at the academy, who shared their experiences and journeys. One player, Santosh Bhattarai, told us how the academy has helped him improve his game and provided him with a platform to showcase his talents. At just 15 years old, Bhattarai has already represented Nepal in the Under-19 World Cup and has big aspirations for his future in the sport.
Another noteworthy academy in Nepal is the NS Cricket Academy, which has produced many players who have gone on to represent Nepal at the national level. We got the chance to sit down with the head coach, Binod Das, who has also played for the national team. Das spoke about the challenges and opportunities in coaching young players and the importance of creating a positive and competitive environment in the academy.
It was clear from our conversations that these top cricket academies in Nepal are making a significant impact on the growth of the sport in the country. Through their dedicated efforts, they are grooming the next generation of players and putting Nepal on the map in the cricket world. We look forward to seeing the continued success of these academies and the players who pass through their doors.
